Item Description
6" long cast iron gun w/dark finish and pearlized white plastic grips w/"Gene Autry" signature in red. Kenton Hardware Co. c. 1940s. Raised "Gene Autry" name below bullet cylinder. Raised "Kenton Toys - Made In USA" text on interior above trigger on right side of gun. Raised "Dummy" text inside cap chamber. Around 1941, many states banned fireworks and caps. Toy manufacturers complied and produced dummy guns, similar to normal guns except they were incapable of firing caps. These varieties were manufactured in lesser quantities and are rarer and more valuable. Grips have trace wear to Autry name and gun shows just trace wear and appears to have little to no use. VF/Exc.
