Item Description
First is a large 4" button with metal covered back and fixed horizontal bar pin. This button is from the late 1920s or early 1930s. There is a noticeable stain mark on the upper right between 2-3 o'clock with about 40% additional rim edge having only the slightest darker tone and not noticeable stain. The entire button has high gloss and almost no surface wear. Only example we've seen. The remaining buttons include a 1-3/8" litho from "Babe Ruth World Series Mattoon, Ill. 1969" which includes photo of him. The other four buttons are 2.25" to 3.5". All include "World Series" and the "Babe Ruth League" logo. First is from 1968 Klamath Falls, Oregon. Next is 1975 from Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Next is 1980 from Jamestown N.Y. and second is 1981 from the same location. The 1980 button has scratches on the left side that show in reflected light. Otherwise, except as noted for the 4" button, all are NM to Mint. "Babe's" and most others are Muchinsky book photo examples. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
