Item Description
c. early 1900s. Superb 2.75" tall double sided celluloid piece promoting "Keith's Continuous Vaudeville-Open All Summer." Five die-cut openings show numerals on wheels that extend slightly beyond the edges so they can be turned to keep track of runs for the home team and visitors, hits for the home team and visitors and innings. Reverse of the mitt is inscribed "Keith's Base Ball Score Counter." On the front side above the letter "I" of "Keith's" there is the slightest .25" near hairline indent in the celluloid which can be felt but hardly shows at all visually and the piece has full gloss with superb color. Likely distributed only in Philadelphia. Full gloss and great color. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
