Item Description
Set of 12 books, each 3.5x3.5" softcover in BLB format w/128 pages and color front cover and are ©1938-1939. Books are numbered 1-12, and back cover of each has text noting that book was obtained for 12 ice cream cone coupons that were issued w/cones (see coupon included w/this lot). Whitman also included a coupon for a Big Big Book on the last page of each book. Seven books have this coupon while five have been removed. Numbers, characters and conditions include - #1 "Smokey Stover - The Fireman Of Foo" w/soiled covers and moderate aging; #2 "Smilin' Jack And His Stratosphere Plane" w/heavy creases to covers and missing .75" corner piece w/inked first page; #3 "Tailspin Tommy On The Mountain Of Human Sacrifice" w/some aging and scattered wear; #4 "Terry And The Pirates - Ashore In Singapore" w/just trace wear; #5 "King Of The Royal Mounted In The Far North" w/faint front cover crease and edge wear; #6 "Dan Dunn Secret Operative 48 And The Counterfeiter Ring" w/just trace wear; #7 "Kayo and Moon Mullins - 'Way Down South" w/just trace aging/wear; #8 "Buck Jones In The Cowboy Masquerade" w/just trace wear; #9 "Smitty's Brother Herby And The Police Horse" w/heavy cover creases and small tears at staples as well as moderately aged pages; #10 "Tim McCoy - Fighting The Redskins" w/some cover creases; #11 "Dick Tracy In Smashing The Famon Racket" w/1/8x.5" piece missing from top center margin of front cover w/small tear at bottom staple on back cover; and #12 "G-Man Vs. The Underworld Chief" w/just trace wear. Conditions vary from Good to VF. Comes w/2.25x3-3/8" Buddy Book Coupon obtained from ice cream cones. Folded into quarters w/even aging. Fine.
