Item Description
10-1/8x18.75x1.75" deep cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains Rapaport Bros. set No. 2503 (different contents from "Midget" caster set No. 2501), ©1934 John F. Dille Co. Content list, directions and ads for additional molds are printed on inside lid. Lid has three corner splits and shows moderate wear at corner and along edges. Die-cut box insert shows wear from use. VG overall. Casting molds for this set include - Buck Rogers, Wilma and Killer Kane. Both mold pieces have metal fatigue hairlines but remain solid and intact. Comes w/four original tins of paint, eight of 12 pigs of lead, electric ladle, ladle rest, paintbrush pair, mold handle pair and is missing casting book, clamp and generic candle. Also missing Buck Rogers sample figure, others are shiny and Exc. Set is overall Fine/VF overall. Rarer set. Comes w/extras as additional molds could be ordered as indicated by the three 8x11.25" magazine ads (which are folded and show wear; Fine/VF). Offered here are two-piece mold for different Buck figure as well as Depth Man and Dr. Huer figures. Scattered wear/darkening from use but VF overall. Also included in lot are 12 cast figures, including the figures from second mold (only Buck is painted) and nine other different figures (Tiger Man, Asteride, One-Eyed Man, Mekkano, Black Barney, Tieko Man), including three ships (Tiger Ship, Interplanetary Ship, Disintegrator). All ships and three figures have been painted. VF/Exc.
