Item Description
8.5x8.5" cast iron base featuring wonderful Art Nouveau design has center metal rod that has attached thick wire frame in shape of woman's leg. Underside of base has Wayne - Knit Hosiery - Chicago - Wk 1" raised text. 1910s. Frame has double-sided plated attachment at base w/"Munsing Wear Hosiery" name and was used in-store to display stockings as seen here. Comes w/single nylon stocking (from later period) for display purposes, though this has some fraying/splits along frame edge. Underside of base has some oxidation though this does not affect top exterior, which has aged patina. Munsing name plate has aged and shows some scattered wear. Fine overall. Scarce.
