Item Description
25x30x10.5" deep cardboard store display featuring five different styles of hard plastic Disney toys by Kohner Bros. 1960s. These include - Mickey Mouse in top hat "Pop Pal" pop-up toy, Donald Duck and Goofy "Peppy Puppets" jointed marionettes, Mickey and Goofy "Tricky Trapeze" toys, six "Mini-Puppet" push puppets (featuring two Mickey and single Donald, Pluto, Bambi and Pinocchio) as well as Donald "Tricky Rider" boat toy. This has string attached to die-cut hand on display and boat is one revolving disc that is animated to spin. Battery box has been disconnected (but is included), has cut wires, so this function no longer works. Animated "Peppy Puppets" action features teetering arm that raises puppets up/down. Battery box/motor is on reverse and we could only get arm to move once or twice. "Pop Pal" display is also animated, w/battery box on reverse, though movement is a bit tricky. Back of display shows wear w/several added pieces of tape for stability, resulting in some areas of surface paper loss along bottom edge. Back displays VG. Front has some scattered dust soiling and aging w/holes added at top corners and 2x3" area of moisture staining at front center. Top edge has some color rubs w/tape at right corner. Area underneath Goofy "Tricky Trapeze toy has repair as once removed w/moisture staining to cardboard. "Pop Pal" platform has .75x2" and 1.5x2.5" areas of missing surface paper at corner. Back of display leans forward a bit. Fine overall. Display toys have some lt. aging but are Exc. to NM overall. Very impressive and rare display. First we've seen. Gary Keller Collection.
