Item Description
Oversized comic w/cardstock cover was printed in England by L. Miller & Son Ltd. (see item #2113), a company that reprinted several Fawcett comics for British audiences and are best known for creating Marvelman, an imitation of Captain Marvel. Book featured reprinted material from Fawcett comic books. 1942. Issue features bw stories featuring Captain Marvel, Captain Marvel Jr., Nyoka the Jungle Girl and Tom Mix. In the US, Fawcett published four issues of "Gift Comics," but those were totally different and features 324 pages of remaindered comics printed at the same time as originals. The US editions also featured different cover art. The issues published by Miller featured 192 pages of reprints. Covers shows handling wear w/back cover showing obvious wear w/heavy creasing. Spine splits at top/bottom have neat glue repairs. Cover is VG. Contents have corner tip wear and margin aging but remain supple. Fine. Scarce.
