10x15" artboard had 8.25x11-1/8" thin stat attached to it, but this has since come loose. Most of stat has been hand-colored for use as color guide for the finished comic book, published by Fawcett in Dec. 1951. Cover depicts Santa Claus emptying his sack, pouring out various Fawcett comic books, as this book featured a collection of stories featuring various characters. Title and Santa's hat and suit remain uncolored as finished publication featured red flocking at these areas. Cover originally featured images of Captain Marvel, Captain Marvel Jr., Mary Marvel and Western comic, but color guide comes w/separate cut-out paste-over that featured altered art of Tom Mix and Captain Marvel Jr. as finished book featured this configuration. This paste-over has since come loose, revealing original art underneath, which has thin layer of glue. Artboard has production notations at bottom and shows obvious aging and some handling wear w/two staples at top that once secured missing overlay sheet. VG. Color guide itself remains clean and Exc. A unique piece for the Captain Marvel/Marvel Family and comic book collector.
