Item Description
Large and impressive 16" long tin litho wind-up by the Louis Marx & Co. ©1939 McCarthy Inc. Body of car has great design featuring different geometric patterns. Separate tin litho Charlie McCarthy and Mortimer Snerd heads stick out of the roof. Each door bears their names as well as "Private Car" title while top of windshield frame reads "Sunshine Top." Car is designed w/pair of protruding bumpers, front is complete w/rubber bumper guard (rear is missing guard). Comes w/replaced key, toy works and travels forward until front bumper strikes an object and this causes vehicle to reverse direction, until rear bumper is struck. All the while both heads spin. Toy has small scattered paint nicks/scratches and a few scattered pinpoint spots of oxidation but overall appearance remains extremely glossy w/deep rich color. VG overall.
