Item Description
18.5x20" printed fabric scarf issued around the time of the classic 1939 MGM film as the main characters are depicted in four different scenes as they appear in the film. Brian Fabrics, c. 1939. This company produced two different designs in a variety of color combinations. This example shows Dorothy w/Glinda the Good Witch of the North in Munchkinland, Dorothy and Scarecrow meeting the Tin Man, Dorothy and her three companions in the poppy field and scene showing the four of them looking at Haunted Forest road signs. Each scene is bordered by repeated "The Wizard Of Oz" name and border of scarf features motifs from film, including Toto, Dorothy's basket, Tin Man and Scarecrow's hats as well as the Wicked Witch of the West's hat, the Wizard's hot air balloon, etc. Scarf has been folded, resulting in some creases and has tiny dot of staining and small 1/8" hole on Scarecrow image in meeting Tin Man scene. Scarf is o/w bright, clean and in choice, VF/Exc. condition.
