Item Description
Lot of four sheets of 10x13" textured paper w/7.5x10" expertly done hand-watercolored prints attached at centers. These and Flash Gordon print (see item #2402) complete a series of premium pictures that were issued by "Puck" magazine, 1939. Upper left of three (excluding Popeye) have attached slip noting these are from a series of hand-colored prints. Each has facsimile signature of creators - Jiggs/George McManus, Barney Google/Bill DeBeck, Toots & Casper/Russ Westoyer, Popeye/E. Segar. Aside from some minor glue staining at top of Barney Google print, first three are Exc. Popeye print has noticeable fade and some scattered aging. Fine. All of these prints are rare.
