Item Description
4.75x4.75" greeting card w/a single 1.25" long gum pack attached to the front as part of the card design. Get-well card features kittens w/candy jar and "Varsity" football pack attached at center. Along w/foil-wrapped piece of gum, pack contains single 7/8x1-3/8" card from this 1949-1950 football set tucked under wrapper. Cards featured top collegiate players of the era on fronts, felt back is that player's college team pennant. Included card is "Ray Nagel - Speedy Left Halfback - U.C.L.A." Nagel (1927-2015) was a football player, coach, and college athletics administrator, serving as head football coach at the University of Utah 1958-1965 and at the University of Iowa 1966-1970. NM/Mint. Wrapper has trace edge wear w/two tiny spots of surface paper adhesion. Greeting card is NM. Comes w/original generic envelope. An interesting lot for the Topps enthusiast.
