Item Description
Unlisted in Hibler-Kaplan and only recently added to Fuld. Issued by Aaron White of the tiny town New Boston, CT. White issued this piece as a Civil War storecard, a calendar medal, and commemorative medal honoring Jefferson, Franklin, Washington, Lafayette, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Emancipation Proclamation. It is the earliest numismatic reference to the emancipation. A truly rare survivor with less than ten specimens known.
