Item Description
Pair of World War II era items. 17.5x17.5" satin pillow cover w/embroidered fringe border features great design of cartoon bear standing in Alaska and throwing bombs towards Japan. Flocked text banner at bottom reads "U.S. Army - Alaska." During the war, the US Army had various bases in Alaska, including Army Air Force bases. Cover has been folded and such has some fold lines which would iron out for an Exc. appearance. Comes w/24.25" (26" to end of streamers) long felt pennant w/silk-screened design showing soldier w/lance astride kangaroo chasing Tojo, who has Imperial Japanese flag on his bottom w/"Target For 1943 - 1st Cav. Div. - In Australia" text and division insignia. The 1st Cavalry Division went to Australia in 1943, theN fought around the South Pacific. Scattered lt. wear and 1/16" insect hole below "Target" text. Still displays VF.
