Item Description
8.5x9.5x8.5" tall glazed ceramic figural spittoon w/Hitler's large open mouth serving as opening of spittoon. Top features top half of a caricatured Hitler w/a surprised look on his face. Backside has three large raised arrows partially forming collar and pointing to the back of Hitler's head. Unmarked but 1940s. At some point painted text was added to front over the glaze, this shows obvious wear and is now illegible. Remainder could be easily removed if desired. Underside has five circular areas w/no crazing as designed. .75" stressline at center of upper lip/mustache; 3" stressline to back interior and 1.75" stressline at right corner of mouth. These are as fired as indicated by glaze. Interior stressline does not show through onto exterior. Upper left corner of mouth has 3/16" chip. Fine overall. Great large and impressive design. Scarce.
