Item Description
20.5x25.5". Italian Book Company, NY. Outstanding allegorical image w/female at lower right labeled "German Democracy" having a dagger in her heart. Foreground has a group of pallbearers carrying the Kaiser to the grave dug by a smiling Uncle Sam and followed by the Kaisers associates each w/ball and chain around ankles. In background a "Chorus Of Allies" including five female figures carrying flags look on. At top are sketch portraits of Napoleon, Lord Kitchner, Washington, Wilson, Lincoln, Garibaldi and Vittorio EMMII. Three archival tape-repaired tears, one each right and left side and bottom left corner. Most notable is 1.75" affecting the left side of Uncle Sam. Light brown stain at lower right extending .75" the way up right side. Otherwise only minor edge chipping and scattered tiny margin tears that would mat out when framed. VG. Scarce.
