Item Description
Lot of three 3.25" dia by 4.75" tall figural painted plaster ashtrays. Three different varieties, each features great caricature likeness of Italian dictator w/wide open mouth which serves as ashtray. One first features plain black hat and is complete w/original label on underside noting maker Bassons Dummy Products and "Ram-Bunk-Shus Benito" name and "Musso's Mouth Is Large And Round - The Noise It Makes Is An Awful Sound - Here's A Likeness Of His Face.....Dump Your Refuse In The Proper Place" verse. All have incised 1942 patent date on backs. Plain black hat ashtray has repair to hat and moderate cracks/paint crazing w/1/8" flak to lower lip. VG. Ashtray w/repainted yellow hat has inked text on bottom about Mussolini. Scattered flakes w/some lt. touch-ups. Fine. Black hat w/yellow eagle is all original paint, including eagle. Scattered wear w/some darkening to interior from use, but o/w VF. Great anti-Axis caricature images.
