Item Description
See previous lot #868. Lot consists of 5.5" and 6" long pair of carved wooden shoes. 1940s. Both have been painted w/anti-Axis images of each shoe. Larger pair features caricature portrait image of Hitler (w/swastika below) and "1940" date on one shoe w/image of green decaying Hitler corpse (w/faded swastika below) and "1945" date. Shoes are attached w/original ribbon through holes on sides of shoes as made. Signed w/"45" date. Scattered aging and wear but VF overall. Smaller shoes feature caricature of Tojo w/"Banzai" text at top and "1941" date below while other shows green decaying corpse of Tojo w/"Fini" text and "1945" date. Scattered wear w/large areas of brown paint flaking one first shoe. Fine. First we've seen of either style in our 49 years.
