Item Description
12.25" dia. silver luster commemorative tray w/inlaid faux wood surface. Issued Christmas 1973 to Pete Coscarart (1913-2002), a second baseman and shortstop in MLB who played from 1938 through 1946 for the Brooklyn Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates, playing in the 1940 All-Star game. Coscarart was ahead of his time in his efforts to form a players union that could negotiate pension benefits in 1946. Following his baseball career, Coscarart scouted for the Minnesota Twins and the Yankees. Tray was issued in recognition of Yankee Stadium's 50th Anniversary and has Coscarart's name and "Scout" etched at bottom center. Tray has expected tarnish, but much luster remains. VF/Exc. Limited issue to team members and VIPs.
