Item Description
4.5" dia. glazed ceramic ashtray w/gold luster accent rim and cigarette rests. Produced c. 1950, towards the end of Wagner's career and during the time he served as a coach for his team the Pittsburgh Pirates. Center of ashtray features photo image of Wagner in his Pirates uniform, holding a chew of loose leaf tobacco. This is interesting as Wagner was a non-smoker and famously refused to allow production of his American Tobacco Company's T206 baseball card to continue, resulting in a very low amount of actual cards being produced, leading to their rarity and immense value.
