Item Description
1.5". Produced for Milk's narrow defeat in the 1975 San Francisco Board of Supervisors election. Shortly after the loss he was appointed by Mayor George Mascone to the Board of Permit Appeals becoming the first openly gay city commissioner in the US. Milk would go on to win the 1977 Supervisor election becoming the first openly gay elected official. After serving 11 months he was assassinated along w/Mayor Moscone by recently resigned Supervisor Dan White. A 1" diagonal scratch is visible in reflective light. This is most likely a result of being transported and distributed in a bag after being manufactured. Exc.
