Item Description
Lot of 12 dessert plates (from a 15-piece set including 14 plates and large serving plate), each 6-7/8" dia. Faiencerie d'Onnaing China Co. of France. 1936. Reverse of each piece has matching company mark including name "Faiencerie d'Onnaing" along w/"Walt Disney" name and various color coding dots. Each plate features choice 3.5" dia. color scene from the 1933 Disney animated short "The Three Little Pigs." Images include Three Pigs dancing and playing music, each Pig building his house, stick house being blown down, Big Bad Wolf trying to disguise himself as sheep and brush salesman, Big Bad Wolf trying to break into Practical Pig's house, etc. All feature French text. Plates have raised segmented border designs accented in gold luster, which show scattered wear. Images have some scattered wear as do gold luster accents. Plate showing Big Bad Wolf as brush salesman has .25" chip on reverse and plate w/Practical Pig at piano has .25" chip on front edge. Group is Fine/VF overall.
