Item Description
10.75x14". Cardboard w/Baltimore union bug at lower right. Features image of a smiling JFK at center. Additional text at lower right reads "Authority: E. Stuart Windsor, Treasurer." Edward Garmatz represented the 3rd district, which includes sections of Baltimore, from 1947-1973 riding JFK's coattails to a landslide victory in 1960. Top right corner has a reverse reinforced crease w/faint area of inpainting on front. Right edge is slightly trimmed w/ tiny area of tan inpainting just above center. Both areas are nearly invisible. Overall even light toning w/ two staple holes at top center, VG. We are aware of two other varieties of this piece, also w/Maryland congressional candidates, but this is the first example we have encountered of this variety. Extremely limited distribution. Rare.
