Hake #299. 1.5" with tin covered back stamped by maker "Balto. Badge & Nov. Co." Vertical pin. McKinley sits in presidential chair with map across his lap showing "Atlantic" and "Pacific" oceans flanking the continent. Curl carries text "Patented June 27th 1899." Female figures, each with one breast exposed, represent Miss Liberty holding flag and Justice holding balanced scales and scroll reading "PRO EXPANSION." Several phrases in Latin encompass the scene. To the right is a golden sunburst. Both a rare and gorgeous button in essentially superb Mint condition. A Gem. See next 7/8" variety.
