Item Description
Original cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains 11.25" long tin litho plane w/14" wingspan (wings are a separate, removable unit) and attached 5" long painted tin remote control attached via wire. Made in Japan by Nomura, 1950s. Box has some scattered handling wear and even aging. Fine overall. Plane has "KLM" graphics and "The Flying Dutchman" name on side and plane has four hard plastic motor housings w/soft plastic propellers; two motor units under each wing w/two rubber tires. Tin remote control unit has an on/off switch and pair of buttons that can be used to turn on each bank of engines, all four engines and propel plane forward. Toy works, when operating the motor housings light up, red "engines" inside and props rotate as plane moves forward. Some scattered paint nicks/scratches including 2" hairline on tail, but still bright, glossy and VF/Exc. overall.
