Item Description
16.75x24" full four-page cover to Nov. 24, 1940 issue of "The Seattle Sunday Times." Front features large full color specialty art titled "Every Man Is A Superman At Christmas" depicting Superman in flight over a snowy town, a sack full of toys over his shoulder. He waves at Santa Claus who flies along in his reindeer-pulled sleigh below him. Lower right bears "Siegel & Shuster" names, referencing Superman's creator Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Superman only appears on front page. Typical horizontal fold at center as folded, crossing image of Santa's sleigh, which has 1/8" hole just in front of it. Paper has moderate aging and scattered wear w/areas of moisture staining and minor chipping at upper right and along bottom margin. VG overall, but Superman image remains bright and clean. Great piece to frame. Early and very rare Superman paper item. First we've offered in our 49 years. Franco Toscanini Collection.
