Item Description
Original cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains 10" long painted tin convertible w/tin litho interior, hubcaps and plated bumpers/grille/hood ornament. Of note, interior also has partial tin litho bodies of anthropomorphic bear driver and dog passenger w/pipe (both have soft vinyl heads; hard plastic pipe). Made in Japan by Nomura/ACE Imp. Co. 1960. Box has obvious aging/moisture staining as well as extensive professional glue repair and is just VG. Toy works well, travels forward , then stops and smoke comes out of passenger dog's pipe, despite box lid stating "Driver Smokes When Car At A Stop. " Although nicely designed, toy has more of a generic 1950s look than a true depiction of the 1959 Cadillac pictured on box lid. Toy is Exc. overall.
