Item Description
Single-sided 8.5x11" retailer's flyer that was packaged on top of a bundle of comic books. ©1973 Marvel Comics Group. Flyer features group image of number of Marvel characters including - Spider-Man, Sub-Mariner, Luke Cage, Captain America, Thing, Incredible Hulk, Nick Fury, Thor, Human Torch, Doc Savage, Man-Thing, Cyclops, Angel, Conan, Daredevil, Rawhide Kid and Iron Man w/" Sumertime [sic] Is A Marvel-Ous Time Of The Year! - Marvel Comics Is Number 1 - In The Last Half Of 1972, Marvel Comics Became The Number One, Top-Selling Line of Comics In the World!" promotional text. Some artists featured include - John Romita, Jack Kirby and Jim Steranko. Lower right has title/logos for the following Marvel comic magazines - "Monster Madness, Tales Of The Zombie, The Haunt Of Horror, Monsters Unleashed!, Dracula Lives!, Vampire Tales, Crazy Magazine" and "Savage Tales Featuring Conan The Barbarian." Folded into quarters but clean and Fine/VF overall. Rare as most of these were quickly discarded. First we've seen. From the collection of comics and illustration historian Brian M. Kane.
