Item Description
Original cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains plastic, tin litho, wire and celluloid toy made in Brazil by Estrela, 1960s. Box is complete w/original cardboard insert and instruction sheet. Lid has piece missing from two side panels, meeting at corner and is thusly incomplete. Lid also exhibits moderate aging and is Good/VG. Toy consists of hard plastic Dumbo and two "wire" wheels. A metal rod extends down from Dumbo's underside w/a weighted tin litho ball attached at end. Umbrella-like unit w/three hangers extends from his head and this rotates when toy is placed on string between two children as shown on included instruction sheet w/Portuguese text. One umbrella hanger has 1/8x.5" flake off top celluloid layer and Dumbo has some minor aging. Wire frame around weighted tin litho ball has moderate oxidation. Fine overall. Rare and first we've seen of this interesting Dumbo toy. See Mickey string toy by same company #1856.
