Item Description
Between 1933 and 1953 Richard Curtis Van Loan - aka The Phantom - solved crimes in the pages of 170 issues of the "Phantom Detective" pulp magazine. Created by D.L. Champion, The Phantom was a genius of disguise and a physical marvel. During the 1930s, readers could join The Friends of The Phantom club and receive a membership card and member badge. Both are offered here. 2.5x4.25" membership card w/inked recipient and club secretary names. NM. 5/8x1" brass shield badge has high relief image of The Phantom in top hat and mask w/"Friends Of The Phantom" name at bottom. Exc. While badge is scarce, the membership card is infinitely rarer and the first we've offered in decades.
