Item Description
Rogers considered all campaigning to be bunk. He mounted a mock campaign in 1928 using only the pages of Life, a weekly humor magazine. Each week he caricatured campaign politics. His only campaign promise was that, if elected, he would resign. First in this group is 7/8" button with back paper reading "Read Will Rogers In Life". Front reads "He Chews To Run." Some pinpoint age dots on the back but front displays cleanly with just a trace of surface wear. VF. Second is 1.25" reading "I Vote For Will Rogers" also from 1928. NM. Next is a rare 1.25" first seen real photo memorial button issued after his plane crash in 1935. NM displaying Mint. Fourth is 7/8" litho "Memorial Will Rogers." Tiniest traces of edge wear. Exc. Last is 1.5" issued in 1979 with text "Will Rogers Centennial" and "50th Annual 89er Celebration." First we've seen and NM displaying Mint.
