Item Description
Original cardboard box w/wonderfully illustrated lid contains 8.5" tall painted tin/tin litho robot w/built-in key made in Japan exclusively for the Japanese market by Yonezawa, 1967. Box comes w/original packing paper and lid shows some scattered wear and even lt. aging. Three of four corners and 1.25" tears to right side panel have had restoration w/some color touch-ups (this is only really noticeable on interior of lid) and as such, box now displays Fine/VF. Robot is complete w/rubber conehead tip and "ears." Head has original red translucent "eyes." Robot no longer sparks, but does move forward when wound, his movements causing flat die-cut tin arms to move back and forth. On/off switch on tin litho gauge chest panel. Some lt. scattered wear in the form of a few tiny paint nicks/scratches w/some aging at metal closure tabs used to hold robot's body together. Minor aging to built-in key. Still displays VF overall. A hard to find Japanese robot, even rarer w/its original box as only a handful of boxed examples are known to exist.
