Pair of 8x10.75" programs filled w/information about the participating schools, football programs, players, etc. Each is peppered throughout w/various ads. The 1940 Sugar Bowl featured Texas A&M against Tulane, w/Texas A&M winning. Cover features "1940" New Year's baby laying in New Orleans' Tulane Stadium and holding sugar cane and Old Man "39" looks on. Both wear football helmets of the era. Cover shows some wear w/some creasing and red pencil price on front cover. Center pages have red bleeding from center spread. Fine overall. The 1948 Sugar Bowl featured the Texas Longhorns against Alabama, w/Texas winning. Cover features player and field image. Cover shows some wear w/pinch creases to spine and some faint moisture staining at bottom right corners of several pages. Fine overall. Sponsors advertising in programs include - Goodyear Service, Coca-Cola, 7Up, Old Schenley, Calvert's and Seagram's 7 Crown whiskey, Falstaff, Jax and Regal beer, Gulf oil/gasoline, Old Gold cigarettes (w/George Petty art), Luzianne Coffee, Patek Philippe pocket watches, Philco radios, Spaulding footballs, etc.
