Item Description
Original first printing 19x25" single-sided poster created and released in 1969 by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Poster features large "War Is Over!" text w/smaller "If You Want It" text below. Bottom of poster has "Happy Christmas From John & Yoko" greeting. Lennon made three trips to Canada in 1969 including the famous "Bed-In For Peace" where "Give Peace A Chance" was recorded. In September noted promoter John Brower persuaded Lennon and Ono (along w/Eric Clapton) to Toronto for the 'Rock And Roll Revival." December saw Lennon again in Toronto w/Brower promoting the world wide campaign for peace w/the iconic "War Is Over (If You Want It)." This poster comes from a Brower team member who helped distribute these posters. Poster has lt. even aging and minor edge wear w/tiny 1/8" tear at bottom left. Some scattered lt. handling wear. Rolled and VF.
