Item numbers 927 through 2489 in auction 187
Item Description
17" tall with stuffed velveteen-covered body, satin-like material on hands, has formed cardboard shoes which are velveteen covered. This velveteen material was used for a very short time in order to create a Steiff-like doll after which Knickerbocker switched to regular cloth such as the doll in lot #1634. Missing the rubber tail but o/w complete with string whiskers, oilcloth eyes and mother-of-pearl buttons on pants. 2" tall die-cut Mickey Mouse string tag attached to right wrist. While tag is complete, it has heavy wear with creases, Good. Doll's face has all-over evenly tanned with age. Red/orange color remains strong. Hands have some small moisture stains. Each shoe has a few shallow indentations. Underside of one arm has professional repair to 1" seam split. Overall still a fine example of this large and impressive doll. From the Gary Selmonsky Collection.
