Item Description
1930s doll is 12" tall to tips of ears, 14" to top of the hat. Has die-cut Mickey Mouse string tag with a few light creases, Fine. Stuffed cloth body with felt ears, composition shoes. Elaborate outfit includes felt jacket with brass buttons and braid accents, oilcloth belt with brass snap, plush-covered hat with braid chin strap. Has string whiskers and wood baton. This doll appears to have been made without a rubber tail as on the back where tail would be attached is the metal wind-up key for the inner music box mechanism. Music mechanism is wound tightly but will produce some musical notes before stopping, however does not work continuously as it should. Doll has light trace of aging, few small brown stains on fingers but overall appearance remains clean and felt outfit retains strong color. Underside of shoes have some typical craze lines but o/w show very little wear. Overall still a VF example of this rare doll, the first we have ever offered. From the Gary Selmonsky Collection.
