Item Description
17.5x22.5" first printing for April 12, 1967 benefit concert for the San Francisco Mime Troupe that took place at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA featuring Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Moby Grape, Andrew Staples and The Loading Zone. Concert was held to benefit the San Francisco Mime Troupe who had been "busted" for performing w/o the necessary permit. Poster art by Mouse Studios (Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelly) features photo image of silent film star Buster Keaton in Roman centurion uniform w/policeman (whose head is in box marked "Police Telegraph") from the 1922 comedy short "Day Dreams." This is the rare first printing of this poster, printed in bw. See second printing (color version) #2762. Poster has moderate edge wear along bottom and right margins, w/scattered moisture staining along bottom margin w/soiling at lower right corner. Rest of poster has some handling wear w/dust soiling at upper margin. VG overall but would frame for a nice appearance.
