©1988 Paramount. "Star Trek the Next Generation" Galoob Phaser. This 5" long plastic/resin cast prototype phaser is the example photographed by Galoob and used for the image shown in the 1989 Galoob catalog (see #2376) and is also the image shown on the cardbacks of the production action figure line. All hand produced and painted with buttons and battery compartment. Designed to light up w/sound but no longer functioning. Factory sticker on bottom with name and item number in marker. Some lt. wear and rubs. Displays as produced and overall Exc. Star Trek toy prototypes of any era are rare and desirable. This is a particularly nice example of one such coveted piece.
