Item Description
Pair of 1930s banks featuring Mickey Mouse. 4.25" tall bank designed like a book w/embossed oilcloth fabric over brass. Zell Products Co. Bank features classic Mickey image on front. These came in a variety of colors and this is version in red w/black accents. Missing key. Scattered edge wear and aging to brass corners. Fine/VF. Comes w/2.5" dia. by 3" tall tin litho bank designed like a beehive. Marked "Made In Germany - Elbezet" on side. Wraparound scene depicts Mickey holding empty jar in one hand w/key in the other as if about to open locked beehive door to retrieve honey. Sides have images of bees and flowers. Underside has trap and comes w/key. Bank has scattered wear and even aging w/trace surface oxidation to Mickey's face. Fine overall. Scarce.
