Item Description
Sizes are 8" to 9.5" tall. Four of the five have silver or brass metallic tassels and the last ribbon has a large safety pin (from the time) on the reverse. Ribbons 3-4-5 include hand painting with the last two including a scene with several oil derricks symbolic of western Pennsylvania's 1870s oil discoveries. The last ribbon includes fancy hand embroidery on the top panel and this was issued for the "State Convention" in 1882. The first four ribbons are dated between 1880 and 1883 and the fifth ribbon is without a date. The first ribbon has brown age marks at the center and the third ribbon has a thin narrow 2" archival tape repair along a reverse bottom edge to mend a hairline split. Other than the first ribbon the rest display VF to NM. The first three ribbons in the group reference the "Second-Third-Fifth Annual Parade." A very nice group.
