Item Description
1.25" and only the second we can recall offering with the first coming from Collectible Pin-Back Buttons as a photo example and it realized in excess of $600 in Auction #214. While this button displays just as nice on the front, the back paper is quite dark with an extra extremely dark panel on the upper right quadrant. The inscription, which follows, is largely readable except for the word "Gift". Text above W&H patent dates is "The Big Christmas Store Contains Everything In Gifts Dear To The Heart Of Childhood." Front depicts Santa and wreath and he holds a rectangular panel showing huge department store with text below "Santa Claus At Sibley, Lindsay & Curr Co's./New Store." Celluloid has .5" hairline center scratch so faint as to barely show even in reflected light. The upper red background to the left and right of Santa has the slightest bit of darkened red color but again such a subtle difference that it is distinguishable only on very close inspection. Overall extremely Fine and among the rarest Santa buttons.
