Item Description
Distinctive St. Louis Button Co. design w/eagle, sunburst and flag. This is among the rarest and most sought after Harding/Coolidge jugates. 1-1/8" crack arching across the top center of the cello. surface. This defect crosses the eagle design but misses the candidates' portraits. While clearly present, the crack blends nicely w/the intricacies of the design and the button is still striking. Defect aside, this piece is structurally sound, devoid of staining, perfectly centered and has only minor surface wear. An undamaged example sold by Hake's realized $29,601.00 in 2013. We are aware of less than six examples in any condition and only two we would consider visually superior. Rare.
