Item Description
First is 1.5" litho c. 1920 showing a bear polishing his shoes and he wears a "Cub" uniform. Brass colored reverse has slogan "Bright Face And Shining Shoes/A Man's Best Capital/Use Cub Shoe Polish." Many pinpoint black dots on the back but color and text are about 95% complete. On the front there is a hairline of paint off the extreme outer edge mostly from 8 o'clock to 2 o'clock. Rest of the button has only the most trivial wear and it has exceptionally bright color and gloss. Fine. Next is 1.5" with pair of bears holding bats beneath the word "Cubs." This design was used c. 1920s. NM displaying Mint. Next at 1.75" reads "American & National League/All-Star Baseball Game/Washington D.C." We believe this button was for the game July 7, 1937. NM displaying Mint. Last at 2.25" is cartoon button for "Milkwaukee Braves" which carries a 1954 copyright date. Tiniest trace of pale grey tone at a couple of spots to the left and above the cartoon. Still with full color and gloss. Fine.
