Item Description
Each is 7/8" with buttons stating presidents' names along with their years in office. 23 of the 24 issued in the set are present, missing only the McKinley final button in this set. One button has no back paper, 11 have W&H back papers and 11 have back paper of American Pepsin Gum Co. indicating these were used as give-aways. There is a little tone on Garfield and Grant. Hayes is somewhat off center. The group displays extremely clean and glossy. McKinley is not particularly scarce and it should be a simple matter to add this to complete the set. While American Pepsin Gum gave these away these also could be purchased in 1897 directly from W&H at the price of 50¢ for the entire set. Exc.
