Item Description
7" tall solid plaster statue features superb design showing full body image of Superman in classic pose w/hands on hips. 1940s w/incised copyright symbol on side of base. Front of base has raised "Superman" name and between legs there is raised "Strength - Courage - Justice" text. Reminiscent of the bronze Superman statue featured on the cover to the May, 1942 issue of "Superman" #16. 3/8" surface flake to left elbow and two tiny slivers of bottom edge of base. These are not overly noticeable when viewed from front. VF overall, but statue still displays nicely. Very rare, one of only a few known. Only the second we've offered in our 49 years (the previous example had repairs). Franco Toscanini Collection.
