Item Description
Set of four 6x6x1" deep flip-top boxes w/illustration showing the four Supermen from the "Reign Of The Supermen!" comic book storyline. After Superman's death, four mysterious characters return claiming to be Superman - Cyborg, Eradicator, Steel and Superboy; who are illustrated on inside of lids and on insert which contains 1-3/8x1.75" metal case containing dials w/each of the Supermens' "S" shield symbols at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock hours. ©1993 DC Comics. Limited edition of 15,000 pieces originally sold for $70 apiece. Insert also contains 1.25" coin w/repeated "S" shields on one side and each characters' image on opposite side, matching image used as a fastener to secure leather watch straps. Coins have some aging and are VF overall. Watches w/same dial images have some minor aging to cases but are o/w NM as produced. Comes w/booklet w/information about storyline/watch. Additionally, Superboy box insert has been signed by several comic book writers and artists associated w/the various titles involved w/the "Reign Of The Supermen!" storyline. Signatures include - John Bogdanove, Dan Jurgens, Jackson Guice, Doug Hazelwood, Chris Batista, Louise Simonson and Rich Faber. Karl Kesel signed on Eradicator ("The Kryptonian") insert. All signatures were obtained in-person at comic conventions. Boxes show just lt. corner tip wear and are Exc. overall. Unique lot as signed. Franco Toscanini Collection.
