Item Description
Complete 11x17" pressbook w/20 pages for original release of the classic 1953 Warner Bros. sci-fi film about a fictional dinosaur, which is released from its frozen, hibernating state by an atomic bomb test in the Arctic Circle. The beast begins to wreak a path of destruction as it travels South, eventually arriving at its ancient spawning grounds - New York City. Featuring stop-motion effects from the great Ray Harryhausen, "The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms" was one of the first atomic monster movies which helped inspire a generation of creature features. Cover features image seen on movie's poster. Pressbook contains promotional items including photos of theater displays (including truck w/24-sheet poster display and 10' tall truck display), promotional articles w/photos of the film's stars as well as film scenes, mock-up tabloid newspaper front page and a large selection of ad mats including posters, banners, etc. Also of note is section noting "Midnight Show With 'Nurse' In Lobby." Staple oxidation w/cover loose from top staple. Moderate pinch creases to spine w/scattered dust soiling to covers. VG.
