Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains 6.25" long tin litho flashlight by U.S. Electric Mfg. Corp. ©1936 WDE. Box features repeated image of Mickey Mouse holding flashlight w/filmstrip-like series of images of Fiddler Pig, Mickey, Minnie Mouse and Pluto on two other sides. Box has had significant restoration, including complete interior lining w/cardboard for reinforcement, bottom end flap is color copy on cardboard, two other areas at top edge are also color copy replacements on cardboard. Some scattered color touch-ups and age spotting, but box remains Fine for display. This rare filmstrip style box is only the second example we've offered in our 49 years as most of these flashlights came in generic boxes w/Mickey Mouse text stamped on end flaps. Front and end pieces of flashlight are chrome-plated while center features wonderful tin lithography showing nighttime scene of Mickey and Minnie walking hand-in-hand, Mickey using flashlight to shine on area w/Pluto sniffing mushrooms. End cap notes "Use Only USA Lite Mickey Mouse Batteries" (see following item #0000). Scattered wear from use w/some scattered scratches to tin litho area. Tiny dent at Mickey's elbow. Fine overall.
