Item Description
Pair of 2.25" tall metal batteries w/paper-covered cardboard outer covering. United States Electric Mfg. Corp., 1930s. This company also produced a series of Disney character flashlights (see Mickey Mouse flashlight, previous item #1843). Label features image of Mickey shining flashlight on Pluto, as well as Minnie Mouse and their nephews. First battery has some lt. corrosion and staining and has even moderate aging to outer covering. VG. Other remains bright and clean w/no staining and is VF overall. Including this pair, we have only offered four examples of these rare batteries in our 49 years; the better of these two are the only example we've seen w/o staining. Batteries come w/vintage 8x11.5" clipped magazine ad for both the flashlight and batteries, featuring Mickey and Minnie images. Ad notes original purchase price of 69¢. Left margin is a bit uneven as removed from magazine and page has some lt. handling wear. VF.
